🎮Call of Duty Zombies: The Drinking Game - Rules

Two zombies holding beers in front of the call of duty logo and zombies in red text

Since its introduction in Call of Duty: World at War, Call of Duty Zombies has been a PvE staple for gamers everywhere and has appeared in many subsequent titles. In this post, we'll explore rules for turning a game of round-based zombies into a lovely drinking session. As with all drinking games, set limits before you begin and be sure to conduct yourself both legally and responsibly.

Preparation

To play the game, you'll need the following in addition to an internet connection, gaming device, and Call of Duty:
  • A Party Sipper of your Choice - I recommend something relatively low ABV. We balanced the rules for a player of moderate ability and a sipper of 4-8% alcohol. Light beer is my go-to here since it has enough lovely hydrating waters to help stave off some small sadness.
  • A Couple of Shots - I would pre-pour a couple of shots to have on hand. Again, lower end of ABV which for shots likely means 80 proof. Kirkland Canadian Whiskey, Tito's Vodka, or Lunazul Tequila would be my recommendations.
  • A LARGE Water - your stomach and head will thank you, Ideally you'll drink a full cup of water for every standard bar drink. Expect to run to the water closet between  pretty much every game.
  • A Full Stomach - Your Dad told you this before your first time out, he was right.

Rules

We have prepared an illustrative ruleset below. In general, actions that are certain or very likely will merit a sip, rare or uncommon actions a finish beverage, and controllable/avoidable actions a shot. Feel free to modify these rules to your comfort or creativity. Fun is the goal after all.

Sips

When any of the following occur, take a sip of your main beverage. Sips are roughly a half ounce to ounce.
  • Buy a Door
  • Purchase from a Wall Buy
  • Drink a Perk Cola
  • Use the Pack-a-Punch/Armor Upgrade/Weapon Rarity
  • Lose All Armor or take a hit to the flesh with no armor
  • Play the Mystery Box
  • Pick up a Power-Up (all on team drink)
  • Use your Field Upgrade
  • Eat a Gobblegum

Finish Your Drink

When any of these events happen to you, finish your current beverage. If you are concerned about the rate of consumption, consider the "No Refills" variant where you can only refill yourself after a specified number of rounds.
  • Get Downed
  • Turn on the Power - only the player who turns on the power
  • You Self-Nade/Suicide, be more careful
  • Defeat a Named Boss or other enemy
  • Use a Monkey/Kazimir
  • Use a Chopper Gunner or other long duration arial killstreak
  • Complete a minor Easter Egg or Side Quest - such as the Coffin Dance in Cold War, Mr. Peeks bowling alley,

Take a Shot

Complete these at your own risk; a shot in the dark can be a dangerous thing indeed:
  • Get a wonder weapon from the mystery box - All wonder weapons included
  • Die during extraction - should have been quicker
  • Die with ray gun - yes every time you do
  • Finish the Main Quest - yes this includes guided mode
  • Reach Wave 100 - you're crazy

Variants

For a more controlled experience consider some optional variants:
  • Ring of Fizz - Who doesn't like a themed experience? Instead of a generic main beverage, curate a short menu of cocktails themed to match the Perk-a-Colas. At this point, there are so many soda options that I would pick 3-5 of them to prepare. Take drinks from the themed beverage only after your buy the corresponding perk.
  • No Refills - Help pace your consumption by only refilling your main beverage only after a specified number of rounds. 5, 10, or 15 are the most likely intervals to chose, but make your own choices.
  • Outbreak - For the outbreak game mode type, treat each locale as 10 levels of ordinary zombies gameplay. Each zone activity will count as a "side quest".
  • Open World - Take four sips for every contract completed.

Outro

There you go: a basic zombies drinking game reference with which to start building your own house rules. Always consider your own limits and tailor the experience accordingly. I'm excited to drop into Call of Duty Black Ops VI later this week. Best of luck Requiem!

🍺🍷🥃 Beer, Wine, and Spirits Rebate Website Master List

If there is anything I love more than a good drink, it's saving money buying that good drink! The rules for providing discounts on alcohol differ substantially between states with some allowing outright discounts or coupons and others entirely disallowing any sort of purchase incentive. Thankfully though, in my native Georgia as well as most states, a simple reimbursement approach is permissible.  Last Updated & Validated 2/4/2026 . Alcohol Rebate Site Master List The following sites are relatively stable for each manufacturer. New offers usually come out every few months. None of these are affiliate links and I provide no assurance as to the process. I have saved so much money using rebates and hope you have similar success. Best practices and general process advice will be presented at the bottom. New sites will be added as I uncover them. 🥃 Review #40: Kirkland Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (2024)

Like Costco's other Scotches, the Kirkland Signature Islay Single Malt is bottled for Alexander Murray and imported by MISA Imports after being distilled and aged in Scotland (TTB.gov plant registry TX-I-1277). The isle of Islay is one of the southern most islands in Scotland and is one of the five whisky regions ensconced in law. There are only nine active distilleries on the island, and the Islay style is typified by strong peat or smoky flavors. As a single malt, we know that the juice in this bottle comes entirely from one of those nine! All of the distilleries are significantly smaller than Glenlivet and many of the mainland producers. Taste testing has people split between Caol Illa, Bruichladdich (Port Charlotte), and Bunnahabhain as being the source. Caol Illa and Laphroig both have done deals for private brand scotch without rights to name the source distillery, but Laphroig does not match the flavor profile for this bottle. Realistically, Caol Illa is the most likely cand...

🥃 Review #34: ASW Fiddler Toasted Wheat Cask Strength Bourbon

Founded by University of Georgia graduates Jim Chasteen and Charlie Thompson, American Spirit Whiskey Distillery ("ASW") is a craft producer out of Atlanta, GA with the plant registry DSP-GA-20014. As Southern Pot-Still Pioneers, they are one of the few producers to distill in the ancient Scottish Tradition of small, grain-in batches (where grain solids are left in for the remainder of the distillation process) though they also partner with Midwest Grain Products to source distillate for further aging, finishing and blending before bottling as is the case here. This bottle is from the June 2023 batch which is a blend of two principal spirits. ASW's master distiller, Justin Maglitz, is accomplished old-time string music fiddler and he often experiments with various factors between batches. As such, the "Fiddler" brand name fits perfectly. No two batches are truly the same, but all of the ones I've had so far have been to my liking. This bottle shares the same...

🥃Review #20 Elijah Craig Barrel Proof - Private Barrel Distiller's Selection

📚 Background: Released in three batches per year, Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Straight Kentucky  Bourbon Whiskey is almost always a hit with aficionados. Barrel proof means that, of course, the whiskey is not cut with water after being dumped from the barrel. The "Private Barrel" moniker further tells you that not the barrel was specially selected and not batched or blended. This can cut both ways as single barrel whiskies sometimes differ significantly from their batched counterparts which have the benefit of distiller curation to even out any off notes. If your local store owner's tastes align with yours, their barrel picks may be better than anything else you can find. On the other hand, a less conscientious selector may pick you a big loser of a barrel. This bottle comes from Costco which means that the private barrel is a "distiller's selection" and not picked by a Costco employee specifically. Typically for these big releases the manufacturer will try...

🔌Review - QuickTrip Energy - Ultra

QuickTrip has a solid history of being in the energy drink business with it's "Rooster Booster" brand, most often in a Big Q from the fountain. Around 2022, they rolled out a 16oz canned line simply titled "QT Energy" to capitalize on continued growth in the energy drink segment, particularly with gen-z. The cans feature a digital camouflage design, in this case gray pixels, and seem to be primarily marketed at young men. In the store, they're usually about knee level on the left hand side of the main energy drink cooler, somewhat hard to spot compared to blocks of larger numbers of SKUs for other brands. 🛒 Price:  $2.39 (often 2/$4 or with a BOGO coupon in the app). This one was a BOGO for me ✨Calories:  10 ,  16oz. can 🍵 Caffeine:  160mg, slightly less than a cup of coffee 👅 Flavor:  Whereas the red original flavor was very much a Red Bull clone, this one tastes very much like the original Monster Energy, almost exactly the same as their Zero Sugar of...
